The martyr's memorial was made in the memory of seven freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives during the Quit India Movement in August 1942 for freedom of India. The great sculptor Devi Prasad  built the statue of the seven students with national pride of India 'Tiranga- Tricolor' The foundation stone of martyrs was laid on August 15, 1947

White Pillars

This colonnaded bungalow in pristine white is the residence of the Manager of the BATA factory in Digha, Patna. The beauty is enhanced by the sprawling lawns and surrounding flora. It has changed ownership several times. Believed to have been built by the Dutch, it was grabbed by the British who sold it to the Raja of Chainpur from whom BATA acquired it. The Medical Missionary Sisters of USA opened the Holy Family Hospital in Padri-ki-Haveli in 1939, in response to an invitation by the then Bishop of Patna, Bishop Sullivan. In 1942 they started a nursing school which also grew into a school of midwifery and pharmacy. Crowded for space the hospital shifted to its new site on the bank of the Ganga at Kurji in November 1958, with the support to many benefactors including the Patna Jesuits.
